Lead Generation

How to qualify leads before they reach your sales team

Stop wasting first calls on people who were never a fit. The forms, questions and automations that sort enquiries on the way in.

‍

Volume is not the problem, quality is

Most businesses that say they need more leads actually need better ones. The sales team spends half its week on first calls that go nowhere: wrong budget, wrong location, wrong service, or simply not ready. Fixing that returns more capacity than doubling the ad spend, and it costs a fraction.

‍

Quick answer

Ask two or three qualifying questions in a multi-step form, route enquiries automatically by the answers, and send the not-yet-ready ones into a nurture sequence instead of a sales call.

‍

Qualify at the form, one question at a time

A long form with ten fields puts people off. A multi-step form that asks one question per screen does not, and completion rates are often higher than a short form. That gives you room to ask the two or three things that separate a real prospect from a browser.

  • What do you need? (a short list of your services)
  • When are you looking to start?
  • Roughly what is the budget or scale?
  • Where are you based?

‍

Route by the answers

Once the form knows what someone needs and when, the enquiry can go straight to the right person with the right priority. Ready-now, in-budget enquiries land in the sales inbox with an alert. Everyone else goes somewhere useful rather than into a queue.

‍

Ready now, budget fitsSales, instant alert, call within the hour
Ready in 3 to 6 monthsNurture email sequence, check-in reminder

UnclearShort qualifying email before any call

Nurture the not-yet-ready

A lead who is six months away is still a lead. An automated sequence of useful emails, a quarterly check-in and a reminder in the CRM keeps you front of mind until the timing is right. Most businesses lose these people entirely; they are the cheapest customers you will ever win.

‍

Close the loop with sales

Qualification only improves if the sales team feeds back which leads turned out to be good. A five-minute weekly review of what came in, how it was scored and what happened next lets you tighten the questions and routing. Within a couple of months the first call is almost always with someone worth calling.
