The most valuable emails you are not sending
Someone has just given you their email address, either by enquiring or by signing up for something. That is the moment they are most interested in you. Most businesses send nothing, or a single 'thanks, we'll be in touch'. A short automated sequence in that window does more than a year of newsletters.
Quick answer
Five emails over two weeks: say hello, prove you know their problem, show a result, answer the objection, make the offer. Set it up once and it works while you sleep.
The five-email structure
This is the sequence we build for most clients, adjusted for their sector. Each email has one job and a single call to action.
- Day 0: Welcome. Confirm what they signed up for and what happens next. One line about who you are.
- Day 2: The problem. Show you understand the thing they are trying to fix, in their words.
- Day 5: The proof. One case study or result, told as a short story with a number in it.
- Day 9: The objection. Answer the reason they have not enquired yet: price, time, trust, 'we tried that before'.
- Day 14: The offer. A clear invitation to book a call or get a quote, with what happens after.
Writing them so they get read
Plain text, or close to it. Written from a named person, not the company. Subject lines that say what is inside. Short paragraphs, one idea each, one link. If it reads like something you would send to one person, it will work on a thousand.

Wire it to your forms and CRM
The sequence should start automatically the moment someone submits a form or signs up. Most email platforms connect to website forms directly or through a simple automation tool. Tag people by which form they used so a quote request gets a different sequence from a guide download.
Measure replies and bookings
Open rates are a vanity metric here. What matters is how many people reply, click through to book, or go on to enquire within the two weeks. Check those monthly and rewrite whichever email is losing people. Two or three edits a year keeps it sharp.
